- Partnering closely with the Store Manager to achieve the store's commercial targets and KPIs, with a clear understanding of how team performance and daily decisions drive results
- Leading the floor with confidence and consistency, setting the standard for customer experience across the team
- Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members through coaching, structured feedback, and product knowledge sharing
- Taking full ownership of store operations in the Store Manager's absence, ensuring continuity across all daily routines, procedures, and team accountability
- Collaborating with the Store Manager and VM specialist on visual merchandising execution, ensuring the sales floor is always presented to brand standard and commercially optimized
- Overseeing stock management and back-of-house organization, ensuring timely replenishment and accurate inventory processes
- Supporting the Store Manager in planning staff schedules and managing time off in a fair and operationally effective way
- Contributing to the planning and execution of in-store events and activations in collaboration with the wider marketing team

Your Role
As Assistant Manager, you are a key pillar of the store's leadership team, working closely with the Store Manager to drive commercial performance, develop the team, and uphold the exceptional standards Merz b. Schwanen is known for. You bring a balance of floor presence and operational ownership—equally comfortable leading a team through a busy trading day as you are reviewing KPIs, supporting with scheduling, or taking the reins in the Store Manager's absence.
Your Profile
This role is well suited to someone with a strong foundation in premium retail leadership who is ready to take on broader responsibility and grow toward store management. You bring:
- 3–5 years of experience in retail, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role, ideally within premium clothing or a comparable environment
- A genuine ability to connect with customers and colleagues in a thoughtful, people-first way
- Strong commercial acumen and confidence in using performance data to inform decisions and motivate the team
- A natural leader who leads from the front, earns trust through action, and fosters accountability in others
- Highly organized and operationally strong, with the ability to manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset—someone who anticipates challenges and moves quickly to address them
- An appreciation for quality garments, craftsmanship, and considered design, and a genuine alignment with our sustainable values
